Education:

  • 1988: PhD -- Computer Science -- New Mexico State University.
  • 1985: MS -- Computer Science -- New Mexico State University.
  • 1983: BS -- Computer Science (2nd major in English) -- University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

    Employment:

    Project manager and research faculty at the Institute for the Learning Sciences since 1990. Managed R&D projects ranging from creativity tools for tax and management consultants, through interactive cable-TV hypermedia virtual shopping experience browsers and meal planners, to graphically advanced multi-player educational simulations (GAMES).

    Tenure track faculty in the department of Computer Science and Operations Research at North Dakota State University from 1988 to 1990.

    Research Scientist at the Computing Research Laboratory (CRL) at New Mexico State University, during the summers from 1988 through 1990 and periodically since. Research on Lexical Semantics, Preference Semantics, and the analysis of Machine Readable Dictionaries (MRD).
