CS Department Positions
Department of Computer Science at North Dakota State University seeks to fill a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position starting Fall of 2012. PhD required. NDSU offers degrees in Computer Science and Software Engineering. Research and teaching excellence is expected. Normal teaching loads are 3 courses per year. Salary is competitive.
The Department has 18 Faculty in diverse areas, approximately 180 graduate (PhD and MS) students and 240 BS/BA students. NDSU is a Carnegie research extensive class institution.
Fargo is a clean, growing metropolitan area of 250,000 that consistently ranks very high in national quality-of-life surveys. We have low levels of crime and pollution, excellent schools, short commutes and proximity to the Minnesota lakes country. The community has a symphony, an opera, a domed stadium, a community theater, three universities and many other opportunities for advancement, recreation and entertainment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D in Computer Science or a closely related area. Experience or other evidence of potential for excellence in research, undergraduate and graduate teaching and service. Effective oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications preferred but not required:
Experience or other evidence of potential for excellence in research in high performance computing, mobile and distributed computing. Security, networks or a related area. The capability for teaching a variety of courses in computer science.
